More than a hundred Stutes Fans made the trip to Dulwich in South London for yet another top of the table clash meeting. This time
between the last two unbeaten teams in the league. On a warm and humid evening the home team started well, a fierce shot beating Lance Key and hitting
the post rebounding out of play for a Histon throw in. The visitors had a couple of corners, but it was the home team who
threatened more, passing the ball quickly and well and keeping pressure on Histon. But it was the visitors who scored first.
A looping cross from Ada Cambridge on the right over the keepers head found Danny Bloomfield in the area and he headed the ball powerfully
into the net. More pressure from the home team and the equaliser inevitably came scored after a corner by Leroy Griffiths. But shortly after the Stutes were in front again.
A short throw from Ada on the right was passed back to him and then he drilled a low cross into the box for Bloomfield to
hit first time into the goal.
Half Time 2-1 to Histon. At half time the visitors had their team talk on the pitch, having decided the dressing room was too warm.
Whatever the reason for the open air team talk, it worked as for the second game running Histon started the second half the stronger team and soon took control.
Some missed chances for Fisher could have made the score 2-2, but it was Histon who were having most of the play. Matt Langston
made it 3-1 with a header after a long throw was flicked on by Jamie Barker. After this there seemed to be only one winner as
the home side’s heads dropped. Antonio Murray made it 4-1 with a drive from the edge of the box after a good passing move,
started by the ever running Neil Kennedy.
Towards the end Erkan joined in the attack, with centre halves Matts Mitchel-King and Langston staying back, as the visitors coasted home to an
impressive victory earned by a superb all round team performance.
